Everest Trek 2017 - Calgary West

The Rotary Club of Calgary West is pleased to announce that is sponsoring another awesome fundraising adventure to
Nepal for April 2017.

This adventure will follow the basic elements of the highly successful 2012 treks which saw 35 trekkers hike among the highest mountains on earth and raise $145,000 to build a high school.

If you are interested in
-great fellowship and camaraderie,
-getting shape to endure physical and mental challenges,
            -and travelling through exotic lands

while helping those people less fortunate than yourself, then consider joining one of the following treks:

- 13 day Trek to Namche Bazaar for a view of Everest from April 22- May 3, 2017*
- 22 day  Trek to Everest base Camp itself from April 22- May 3, 2017*

You’ll have to pay your own way ($5000-$6500* each depending on the trek) plus raise $2500 in tax receiptable donations to help registered charities deal with the consequences of the 2015 earthquake. The charities are in the process of being selected and *dates and *costs are approximate. To be confirmed later.

GOLF GOLF GOLF

Did we get your attention ?!

Rotary International through its Rotary Fellowships provides opportunities for Rotarians to join with Rotarians around the world who share a common interest in recreational activities, hobbies and sports.  The International Golfing Fellowship of Rotary, for instance, makes it possible to enjoy golf and fellowship with other Rotarians through various events including an annual international tournament.

Golfers of all skill levels are grouped according to their handicaps and meet new friends and enjoy golf at excellent courses followed by a variety of social activities.  Next summer, the get-together event is being held in Rotterdam.

Of particular interest is the 2017 Tournament that Canada will be hosting in Victoria, BC, Aug 6 - 11, 2017.  Register at http://www.igfr2017.ca/  Regardless of your golfing ability, this will be a fun event to meet and play with other Rotarians from all over the globe.
