New Generations Service Exchange, Nov 21, 22, Online Conference

An experience to share a future of service and peace

The New Generation Service Exchange Rotary program is aimed at involving enthusiastic personalities, who have reached the age of consent - indeed, "young adults" -  placing them in an activity mainly consisting of service action, encouraging their professional development and stimulating their social interest.

By participating in the NGSE, with the discovery of a different world from his/her own, each "young adult" becomes a citizen of the world, turning into a promoter and “standard-bearer” of Future of Service and Peace

DEI Survey Launch

Take the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Survey for your club!

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is committed to helping our district through education, understanding, and support in creating inviting communities to all cultures, experiences, and identities through our Rotary clubs.

Participating in optional surveys or providing feedback helps District 5360 better to serve our clubs.

Our hope is this survey will help our committee better understand the current climate and needs of each club as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion experience, training, and opportunities to further our mission of Rotary’s global vision.

The survey should take between 15-20 minutes.

Wee Read

Despite all the challenges this pandemic has presented for our community, a clear opportunity presented itself in the ways we’ve all been able to adapt to an increasingly digital world. Through the generous support of The Rotary Club, RBC, and Enbridge, we embarked on the major task of digitizing our wee read training to become Calgary Reads’ first-ever Massive, Open, Online Course (MOOC). We are so excited to announce to you that wee read is now available for anyone (and EVERYONE) to take online, free of charge, and at their own pace, to help support every child to read with confidence and joy.

We invite you to share this with everyone in your organization, as it is designed for any important adult in a child’s life; the first round of training is all about the basics of early literacy, the second round specifically around volunteering in school settings. For those who have trained on wee read before, we invite you to brush up your knowledge in this new edition and to print out a certificate for yourselves. For those who have never trained before, now is the perfect time to start; while we’re unable to volunteer in schools at the moment, we’ll be able to hit the ground running as soon as they open back up!

If you have any questions or comments or want to get in touch to learn more, please message Alex at alexm@calgaryreads.com.

We are so looking forward to the ways you will all inspire a more literate society, thank you for everything you do!

RAYEC Camp, Aug 8 - 14, 2021

Planning is well underway for the 24th annual Rotary Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp.
RAYEC 2021 will be held August 8 to 14 at Eagles Nest Ranch.  RAYEC is a business camp for youth aged 13-15.

The camp would not be possible without the financial support of the clubs of Rotary District 5360.  Sponsoring a camper/youth leader for the week is $1000.00.

All camp applications are processed centrally.  Clubs are not responsible for finding a youth, however, they can encourage youth in their areas to apply.

Visit our website at www.rotaryayec.ca for more information or contact Jodie at rotaryayec@gmail.com
