Host Organizing Committee Bulletin RI Convention 2025 (Oct. 12, 2024)

We learned this past week that Convention Paid Registrations have surpassed the 10,000 person mark and continue to climb. This is AMAZING news with both Rotary International and the Host Organizing Committee thrilled about the progress.

While this is an important milestone, there are more milestones to go, with a key one being Sunday, Dec 16, 2024, the date that Registration fees move from USD $525 to USD $625. We know, historically, that registrations in the next 60 days are going to skyrocket so don’t wait, register for the convention TODAY at Registration

The Rotary Convention is not just for Rotarians, it’s for families as well. Rotary Spouses and your children, with a paid registration, can be full participants in the convention, including General Sessions, Workshops, Plenary Sessions, and festive elements including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The Calgary 2025 HOC is building Family Friend Signature events that your family won’t want to miss. Talk to your family and bring them to Calgary for a great time:

While District 5360 and 5370 Rotarians are free to stay in the Rotary International Hotel Block, we are encouraging you to think differently. D5360 has worked with Mount Royal University to secure space in their residences from June 21 to 25, 2024. Staying at MRU;

· Allows international visitors greater access to hotel accommodations in the city

· Provides an environment for Rotarians to foster some District camaraderie while in Calgary

Convention Volunteers Required

The Convention itself requires 2,000 volunteers across the City. Today we have close to 350 volunteers registered.

You can be a Person of Action and support the convention with a 4 hour volunteer shift – you get a cool hat, colorful uniform, and the opportunity to meet people from around the world. For a breakdown of the key opportunities, check out Volunteering | Calgary 2025 HOC

The HOC is so excited about the engagement we are seeing around Host Hospitality Night on June 23, 2025. Most recent stats show that we have 750+ Rotarians from around the world signed up to be part of this terrific evening, with apprpoximately 800 spots currently confirmed to support the demand by our Rotary clubs. We know there are more spots out there, we just need you to tell us about them.

We have had a lot of questions about the $50 USD that Rotary Guests are paying. Here are the details:

Purpose is to cover the transportation cost to their Host Hospitality Event and applies for groups of 50 or more, or out of town events.

Does not apply to small groups inside the City – Host Clubs will be responsible for making necessary travel arrangements.

Please register your intentions to welcome Rotarians through Host Hospitality at Hosting Home Hospitality Event | Calgary 2025 HOC (We understand some folks have run into some technical issues with this site, we believe they are all fixed)

World Class Entertainment for a Worldwide Audience

You are going to be blown away by the entertainment and fun we are going to have in Calgary!!! Mark and the Signature Events team are raising the bar for Rotary conventions and its going to take a lot for other cities to top what we have planned, here’s a few examples:

A fabulouse Grandstand, Fireworks and Light Show to kick off the Convention. You will want to be part of the action on Saturday, June 21, 2024.

We recently learned that NINE teams form the USA will be part of the Indian Relay Race event on June 21, 2024 which is going to serve as a QUALIFYING EVENT for Calgary Stampede. You will see the BEST Relay Racers in the World at the Rotary Convention. You can find all the up-to-date information on Signature Events at Signature Events | Calgary 2025 HOC.
