News from the New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) program:
Manvi Pant (Rotaractor, U of Calgary) is now with her second host family, who treated her to Venice!
Here she is, with Margie’s counterpart, District 2060 NGSE chair Valeria Zavarone, on the left, and her host parents, Paulo Forti and Nicoletta Pozzebon, in Venice.
Manvi wraps up her month-long NGSE exchange at the end of this week and then heads off for a week’s vacation before returning home.
Manvi has been a great ambassador for our District and the NGSE program – well done, Manvi!
Maya Povhe. heads off to the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne this week. Maya is a member of the District 5360 NGSE team. She will hold the NGSE flag high in Melbourne, hoping to meet up with our current NGSE partners from Italy, Argentina, Brazil, India, Taiwan, France, Colombia, and Chile – AND make new contacts for future NGSE exchanges. There will also be much to learn about NGSE programs in other countries.
Maya is also looking forward to the friendship side of the Convention. She particularly appreciates the opportunity Rotary offers for friendships to develop between different generations and ways of life, a prime example being the friendship she has developed with Rhea Graham. She is most grateful to Rhea for making this trip possible. From all of us, Rhea, thank you sincerely for your unwavering support of the NGSE team and your ongoing generosity!
This past weekend, Rhea met with Maya and her mother, Marcella Povhe, to give her a warm send-off.
